Learning therapy.

Therapy for people working in the social domain like psychologists, coaches, social workers or informal caregivers. Students. Philosophers. Artists. We can reach the same depth as in regular therapy and additionally we can discuss the issue at hand by using the perspectives of Gestalt Theory, Existential currents or focus on life’s phenomena.

  • Maybe there has been a lack of depth in your current work, or you feel you are not living up to your full potential?

  • Maybe you feel there is a sense of urgency or purpose that brought you into this current job, but it’s become more draining than rewarding over time?

In Gestalt we like the idea of “chewing” on something, as a middle state between not- knowing where to go, and having a sense of direction. Chewing, delaying the urge to jump ahead, on having to have an answer to your life’s questions, can be surprisingly rich. Sitting with something, together, shows you/us where the energy can freely flow and where it’s stuck. Allowing ourselves to stay with “what exists” means, paradoxically, making space for something new to arrive whilst not losing sight of the reality of everyday.

Examples that could come up in learning therapy.

  • Relational work; what happens in the relationships in your life (or in your own therapy work)

  • What dynamics are present and what function do they hold?

  • Systemic issues. Working inside systems that oppress natural human relating and how to deal with them.

  • Building and sustaining your practice work.

  • Shadow work; what in your private life or work life doesn’t get the full spotlight. Think old pains, familiar dynamics, unfinished business.

  • Building a network of therapist, to become colleagues and share.

  • Burnout & bore-out

  • Empathy tiredness

  • Life/ work balance.
